Кога светот ќе го придобиеме, тогаш во гроб ќе се вселиме, каде што се заедно царевите и сиромасите - Беседа- о. Гаврил

Денешното Евангелие се надоврзува на предходното прочитано. Господ јасно и гласно нè поучува што е највредно во животот. Целиот свет со сето негово богатство и слава не е вреден само како една човекова душа. И затоа најмногу од сè треба да се грижиме за неа. Да не се залажуваме и грижиме толку за богатствата и славата на овој свет, затоа што, како што се вели во една молитва од погредната служба, „кога светот ќе го придобиеме, тогаш во гроб ќе се вселиме каде што се заедно царевите и сиромасите “. И што ќе понесеме тогаш?

Ништо.

Ќе останеме голи и празни па дури и полошо од тоа, ќе ги понесеме со нас своите гревови кои ќе нè осудат…

Не велам, дека не треба да работиме и се трудиме, и допринесуваме во овој свет; дека тоа е само за оние на кои им се скопени заради царството небесно односно монасите, туку да не се острастуваме на него. Сè да сметаме како минливо и невредно во споредба со нашата душа и да не се надеваме на него (светот). Затоа што само Христос Богочовекот е единствениот наш Спасител. Само Тој е Вистината и само Тој е смислата на (го осмислува ) нашиот живот. Без него, сè е суета, прелест, темнина и смрт.

„ Кој сака да врви по Мене, нека се одрече од себе, нека го земе својот крст и нека оди по мене“, нè повикува Господ Исус Христос. Значи треба да се откажеме од служењето и угодувањето на своите страсти и да му служиме на Бога. Не да ја бараме својата волја, туку пред сè, волјата Божја, зашто таа е добра и света. Да благодариме за сè во животот и сè да сметаме и прифаќаме како добро за наше спасение, со сите околности и личности кои Господ ни ги дава во него.

Не треба ни да се срамуваме од Господ зашто како што вели Самиот Тој „кој се срами од Мене и од зборовите Мои во овој прељубодеен и грешен род и Синот Човечки ќе се срами од него, кога ќе дојде во славата на Својот Отец со светите ангели“ . Не треба да се срамуваме ако ни замерат, на пример, дека постиме или постапуваме според Божјот закон, па да престанеме и почнеме да грешеме, демек да не ги соблазнуваме, оти што посебно правиме тогаш? Прво, ние самите за себе грешеме и си ја погубуваме душата, а потоа и на другите. Зашто, кој ќе ги поучи оние кои сеуште не ја спознале вистината и не се свесни за тоа, ако не ние со нашиот пример? И што особено ќе направиме ако му угодуваме на овој свет кој во зло лежи и чиј лидер е ѓаволот? Тогаш и Господ ќе се засрами од нас, не дека Тој ќе нè отфрли, туку ние Него веќе Го отфрливме со нашиот световен нехристијански живот.

А што може да ни даде овој отпаднат свет?

Ништо сигурно. Повторно „кога светот ќе го придобиеме, тогаш во гроб ќе се вселиме, каде што се заедно царевите и сиромасите “

Па затоа не треба да го сакаме и да го слушаме светот. Особено вие, младите, кои сега си ги оформувате ваши каратери и навики и животот е пред вас. Не дозволувајте светот да ве измами со неговите лажни ветувања, па да го изгубите она што е највредно, душата, „оти каква полза е за човека ако го придобие сиот свет, а на својата душа и’ напакости? Или каков откуп ќе даде човек за неговата душа?“

Господ ни ветил царство небесно. Овој настан се случил пред Преображението на гората Тавор и Господ ветува : „Вистина ви велам , тука стојат некои кои нема да вкусат смрт, дури не го видат царството Божјо дојдено во сила“, кое Тој подоцна на гората го открил и покажал дека Царството Божјо не е приказна или мит, туку реалност.

Денес се слави и споменот на соборот на сите македонски светители. Тоа биле луѓе исти како нас, од крв и месо, дури и од нашиот род македонски. Меѓу нив се и апостолите кои проповедале во Мекедонија, а некои од апостолите и биле родум од Македонија, потоа маченици, исповедниците, преподобните и епикопи. Можеби некои од нив и ни биле роднини, но која е раликата меѓу нив и мене? Меѓу нив и нас? Нивната волја и нивниот свет живот. Тие се решиле да се откажат од себе, да го понесат својот крст и да го последуват Христос и затоа Христос нив и ги наградил и прославил. Тие со својот живот докажале дека Неговите зборови се вистина и ја виделе славата и силата на Царството Божјо уште овде на земјата со благодатта која ја поседувале и чудата кои ги правеле.

Тоа е поуката од денешното Евангелие!

When we gain the whole world, then we’ll move in the tomb where the kings and the poor together - Homily

Today’s reading of the Gospel follows on from the previous Gospel reading. The Lord clearly teaches us what is most valuable in life. The whole world with all its wealth and glory is not as worthy as the soul of just one person. And that is why, more than anything else, we should look after it. We shouldn’t mislead ourselves with the possessions and glory of this world, because as it is said in one of the prayers of the funeral hymns, “when we gain the whole world, then we’ll move in the tomb where the kings and the poor together”. And what will we then bring?

Nothing.

We will be left naked and empty, and even worse than that; we will take with us our sins which we will be judged on.

I am not suggesting that we should not work or strive, or contribute to this world; as that is only for the eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake concerning the monastic’s, however to not become passionate over it. We should see everything as temporary and worthless in comparison to our souls, and we should not have expectations of the world. Since only Christ the Son of God is our only Savior, only He is the Truth and Purpose (and giver or reason) for our lives. Without Him everything is vanity, delusion, darkness and death.

„Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me“, Lord Jesus Christ calls on us. Therefore we need to reject our passions by not serving or indulging in them and serve only the Lord. We need to reject our will, and above all, look for the will of God as only His will is good and holy. We need to give thanks for everything in life and to consider and accept everything as good for our salvation, including all the situations and people that God gives to us in Him.

We should not be ashamed of God because as He Himself says ” Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”. We should not be ashamed, for example, if someone rebukes us because we lent or because we live by the commandments of God. In this instance, to avoid tempting someone we begin to sin. But what are we actually doing in that moment? Firstly, we start to sin for our own selves and loose our soul, and then also the souls of others. Who will teach those who do not yet know the truth or are not conscious of it, if we ourselves don’t lead by example? And what will we achieve if we please this world which lays in evil and whose leader is the devil? At that time God will be ashamed of us, not because He will refuse us, but we ourselves have refused Him with our own worldly unchristian life.

And what can this wasted world give us?

Nothing, surely. Again “when we gain the whole world, then we’ll move in the tomb where the kings and the poor together”.

So that is why we should not love and listen to the world. Especially you younger people who are now forming your characters and habits and have your life before you. Don’t allow the world to trick you with its deceitful promises and to lose that which is the most valuable, your soul “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

The Lord promised us the heavenly kingdom. This event happened before the transfiguration of our Lord on Mount Tabor where the Lord promises: “Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power”, which He later revealed and showed on the mount that the Kingdom of God is not a story or a myth, but reality.

Today is the celebration and memory of the assembly of all the Macedonian saints. They were people like you and I, of blood and flesh, even from our Macedonian people. Amongst them are also apostles who preached in Macedonia, and some of the apostles were even from Macedonia, and then also martyrs, confessors, the venerable and bishops. Perhaps some of them were relatives of ours, but what is the difference between them and us? The difference is their will and holy life. They chose to withdraw from themselves, to carry their cross and to follow Christ and that is why Christ rewarded them and glorified them. With their life they proved that His words are truth and they saw the glory and power of the Kingdom of God even form here on the earth with the grace which they possessed and the miracles they did.

That is the lesson of today’s Gospel!
